When winter approaches staying warm while fishing becomes even harder for the angler. Did you know that a majority of your body’s heat is lost through your head? The old saying if your feet are cold put on a hat is a fact. One of the most important pieces of clothing during the winter months and for that matter the summer months as well is a good hat. In the wintertime, you will want something covering your head that is not only stylish but also functional as well. Keeping your head warm and dry is the simplest way to retain your body’s natural heat. Look for something that not only covers the top of your head put will offer some type of protection for your ears as well.
During the summer months, you are not worried about staying warm however; you do need to think about the sunrays and over heating. Just as a hat will be a major asset in keeping, you warm in the winter a hat will also be a big aid in keeping you cool in the summer. Hats with a brim or a bill will do an even better job of helping you stay cool.
Keeping your hands warm may not be an important factor of keeping your body warm, however they do need protected against the cold as well. The winter angler needs to be able to bait hooks and tie knots. This will become almost impossible when your hands and fingers are so cold that they do not want to bend or function. Also when fishing your hands at some point in time are going to get wet adding to the problem of keeping them warm, not to mention that they will become more susceptible to frostbite.
Find yourself a nice fishing hat and a warm pair of fishing gloves so you will be able to enjoy your winter fishing even more. On the other hand, you can pickup a good summer fishing hat and be ready for the coming summers fishing adventures.
