The St Croix Imperial Fly Rod
value, quality, and performance
 | |
St. Croix has definitely put together an exceptional rod with value and cost in mind for us budget fisherman. This rod easily rivals many $300.00 and $400.00 rods. Which is great because today who wants to spend that much anyway? St. Croix makes it easy to get into fly fishing allowing the average fly angler to get quality gear and still stay within their budget.
Imperial is the most balanced and sensitive fly rod you will ever use. It has many unique features as well. They have the high quality SCII blanks, with quality cork handles, up-locking walnut reel seats; the St Croix Imperial fly rod looks as great as it performs! I believe that most of the anglers once they have tried the Imperial would choose this rod over the sage or Orvis models. While this is just my opinion you should try one for yourself before you get too fired up over this statement.
Exactly how smart can someone be if they've spent an entire lifetime without fishing let alone fly fishing? With this angling enlightenment there is a profound appreciation for the slower paced art of fly fishing and you will enjoy it even more with the moderate-action of the St. Croix Imperial fly rods. Slow casting strokes and lots of feel make them just right for technical spring creeks.
With the heavier line weights, the spey rods in particular, are adept at punching heavy, wind-resistant flies through the thickest of breezes.
This rod in unbelievable! I personally believe every new fly fisher should experience this rod. I have been fly fishing for a while now and this is a perfect fly rod for kids as well as adults looking for a great fight. I am a diehard kid fly fisherman and "this is the rod”. The St Croix Imperial fly rod has it all value, quality, and performance.
The Imperial Series comes in line weights ranging from 3 to 10. You will also find them in the 2 or 4 piece models.
